Obadiah 19-20

19And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and they of the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin shall possess Gilead. 20And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.

The promises of God are yes and amen.  Israel will get back all her land.  Now, let us go beyond grace and works.  Because if grace and works is all we get out of the Book of Obadiah, then we have failed to see the greater message, Obadiah 21.

21And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Yehovah’s.

This should sound familiar.  It is similar to Romans 11:25-29, specifically Romans 11:26.

26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

Yet, one must not stop there.  They must go on to Romans 11:30.

30For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

Paul is talking to those who were not born Jewish.  Through the unbelief of the Jew, the gentiles obtained mercy from God to become believers, Romans 11:31-32.

31Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. 32For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

In the future, those that did not believe, both Jew and Gentile, will obtain mercy through those that did believe.  This is the future when the Messiah brings salvation through the Bride.  This many be new to you, but it is not new to the Bible, Acts 3:20-21.

20And he shall send Yeshua Messiah, which before was preached unto you: 21Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

This is the Restitution of All Things.  In the millennium, deception will be removed and the truth will come forth.  This is not something new or only declared by Peter, Acts 3:24.

24Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

All the prophets, even Obadiah has declared the Restitution of All Things, Romans 11:33-36.

33O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! 34For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? 35Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? 36For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

There is a beautiful thing about to happen in the future.  The great day of the Lord is not about  destruction.  It is about redemption.  In Romans, the mercy comes through those that believed, 2 Corinthians 4:18.

18While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

We need to open our spiritual eyes.  There is a great spiritual message in Obadiah that is pertinent for us today, Hebrews 11:13.

13These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

Our forefathers were able to look afar off so should we.

There is a calling that all believers should answer.  Time is running out for many of us and many of our loved ones.  Salvation is only a small piece of God’s calling.  There is a greater blessing in the future.  Unfortunately because many are spiritually lazy, they will miss it, Amos 9:13.

13Behold, the days come, saith Yehovah, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.

It may be odd to think that the plowman would over take the reaper.  However, God said it and He had a reason.  What this literally means is one is harvesting while another is plowing the ground for another crop.  The plow overtakes the one harvesting.  We are at that time when many are trying to harvest the last crops before the millennium.  When in reality, we should be planting for the millennium.  There is a great work to be done.  We need to prepare for it.  We are not at the end of the harvest.  We are just beginning the soil preparation and planting for the great harvest of the millennium.  The ones that will be harvesting are Amos 9:11-12.

11In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:  12That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith Yehovah that doeth this.

God will raise up the tabernacle of David.  Tabernacle of David is the Hebrew words CUKKAH {sook-kaw’} (H5521) DAVIYD {daw-veed’} (H1732).  It can also be written Mishkan Daviyd.  Today, believers should not be overly concerned about the end time harvest.  They should be more concerned about plowing to prepare the ground for the future harvest in the millennium for Amos 9:14-15.

14And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. 15And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith Yehovah thy God.

This is not just for the Jew, it is for all of mankind.  This has been the calling for all believers, 2 Timothy 4:8.

8Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Are you looking forward to His appearing, so that the struggles of life end?  Or, so you can have rest from your enemies and finally they will see that you were right?  If so, then you have missed the greater message of God and the greater blessings of God in this lifetime.  If it is all about you, then you may be a Natural Man, a Carnal Christian.

The Spiritual Man should be looking forward to His coming for God’s justification.  In that time, God’s name will be exalted.  Deception will be taken out of the land and the truth of the gospel will come forth.  Righteousness will reign through out the land.  God’s overall purposes and plans will come to fulfillment.  Look forward because of Him and for Him to be glorified, amen.
