Preservation of Yosef
This document determines how long Yosef’s body was preserved prior to leaving Mitzrayim.
Yosef died at 110 years of age, Bereishis 50:22.
22 And Yosef dwelt in Mitzrayim, he, and his father’s house and Yosef lived a hundred and ten years.
Although it is thought by many that the Children of Yisrael were in Mitzrayim 400 years, it was actually 215 years. Refer to 215 Years in Mitzrayim.
Yosef started his ministry in Bereishis 41:46-47.
46 And Yosef thirty years son when he stood before Pharaoh king of Mitzrayim. And Yosef went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Mitzrayim. 47 And in the seven plenteous years the land brought forth by handfuls.
The Children of Yisrael entered Mitzrayim after the second year of famine, Bereishis 45:11.
11 And there will I nourish you; for yet five years of famine; lest you, and your household, and all that you have, come to poverty.
At this point, there were already 7 years of plenty and 2 years of famine; therefore, Yosef was 39 years of age. From the time the Children of Yisrael entered the land to the death of Yosef would be 110 years minus 39 years. Yosef lived an additional 71 years. Therefore, from the time of Yosef’s death to when the Children of Yisrael left Mitzrayim would be the 215 years minus 71 additional years of Yosef’s life. This is equal to 144 years Yosef’s body was preserved in Mitzrayim. This is a shadow of the preservation of today in Yeshua Messiah.
144 years Yosef was preserved. Just as the words of Yeshua, Ben Yosef, have been preserved by a special class of believers.
Throughout Scriptures, there is the principle of a day for a year and a year for a day. For example, Bemidbar 14:34.
34 After the number of the days in which you searched the land, forty days, each day for a year, shall you bear your iniquities, forty years, and you shall know My breach of promise.
It is the same in Yechezqel 4:6.
6 And when you have accomplished them, lie again on your right side, and you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Yehuda forty days. A day for a year, a day for a year, I have appointed to you.
As such, 144 years equate to 144 days. Peter tells us in 2 Peter 3:8.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
144 days then equate to 144,000.
There are those that pursue the High Calling of God in Yeshua Messiah in the Age of Ben Yosef. These have been preserving Yeshua in the midst of so much harlotry, Philippians 3:13-14.
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended. But one thing, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth to those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Messiah Yeshua.
Those who pursue the High Calling of Yeshua are the ones that preserve His words to this day.
