Iesous (G2424) Joshua, Yeshua

 Acts 7:45

 ⁴⁵ Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;

Hebrews 4:8.

⁸For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

Jesus comes from the Greek word Iesous (G2424).  It is in the Bible 975 times.  It is always translated Jesus.  Three of those times, it refers to an individual other than the Messiah.

Iesous (G2424) is of Hebrew origin, Yehosua or Yhowshua (H3091).  It means Jehovah is salvation.  Yhowshua (H3091) is typically translated Joshua or Jehoshuah.  Both Acts 7:45 and Hebrews 4:8 were not referring to Messiah, but to Joshua that brought the children of Israel into the promised land.  As such, these verses should have been translated:

Acts 7:45

Hebrews 4:8

⁸For if Joshua had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

Colossians 4:11

¹¹ And Jesus, which is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellowworkers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me.

Again Jesus comes from the Greek word Iesous (G2424).  Adhering to the above, Jesus should be Joshua.  As such, Colossians 4:11 should have been translated:

¹¹ And Joshua, which is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellowworkers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me.

The remainder of the verses that should be corrected are easily identifiable.  If it states Jesus it should be Joshua.  However, using that name will only serve to confuse those that are unlearned.  As such, Iesous (G2424) should be translated Yeshua to prevent any further confusion.

Note that there are at least 5 places in scriptures where Jesus is in italics.  This means that the translator added the word.  These are corrected with former word in parenthesis:

Mark 5:24

²⁴ And Yeshua (Jesus) went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.

Mark 16:9

⁹ Now when Yeshua (Jesus) was risen early first (or certain) sabbath, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.

Luke 7:37

³⁷ And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Yeshua (Jesus) sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,

Luke 19:1

¹ And Yeshua (Jesus) entered and passed through Jericho.

John 9:1

​            ¹ And as Yeshua (Jesus) passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.

There are an additional 3 verses that use the word Jesus as a translation for autos (G0846).  Autos (G0846) is in the Bible 5118 times.  It is translated him 1947 times, them 1148 times, her 195 times, it 152 times, 36 times it is not translated and 1676 times a miscellaneous word is used.  These three verses would be part of the miscellaneous words.  Although, Yeshua (Jesus) is not a typical translation, it fits the context of the verses.  These are corrected with former word in parenthesis:

Mark 1:45

⁴⁵ But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Yeshua (Jesus) could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.

Mark 2:15

¹⁵ And it came to pass, that, as Yeshua (Jesus) sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Yeshua and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.

John 7:50

⁵⁰ Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Yeshua (Jesus) by night, being one of them,)
