Acts 17:18

¹⁸ Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Yeshua, and the resurrection.

Gods is the Greek word daimonion (G1140).  It is in the Bible 60 times.  It is translated devil 59 times and god one time.  Daimonion (G1140) refers to a demonic being, evil spirits or the messengers and ministers of the devil.  It is a spiritual being not of God.

Just because these people did not understand Paul, it does not make it a god.  These people worshipped devils and equated Yeshua with devils.  The translation should not automatically corrected their misunderstanding.  God specifically used the Greek word daimonion (G1140).  As believers, we should honor His choice.  As such, Acts 17:18 should have been translated:
