H0430 Judge our Redeemer xc2606

אֱלֹהִים elohiym (H0430) God 

Bereishis 1:1 

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the land.

God is the Hebrew word אֱלֹהִים elohiym (H0430).  It is in the Bible 2606 times.  It is translated God 2346 times, god 244 times, judge 5 times, GOD 1 time, goddess 2 times, great 2 times, mighty 2 times, angels 1 time, exceeding 1 time, God-ward + H4136 1 time and godly 1 time.  It is believed by many that it is just another word for God.  In the context of its use, it should have been translated either judge or redeemer.  As in Shemos 7:1.

1 And Yehovah said to Moshe, see, I have made you a god to Pharaoh and Aharon your brother shall be your prophet.

Although, אֱלֹהִים elohiym (H0430) should have been translated judge in Shemos 7:1.  Moshe was no god to Pharoah.  Pharoah would not have ever seen Moshe as a god.  However, as a judge or a redeemer, Pharoah one day will see Moshe as a potential redeemer in the Restitution of All Things.  Peter describes this in Acts 3:19-22. 

19 Repent you therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; 20 and He shall send Yeshua Messiah, which before was preached to you.  21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of Restitution of All Things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.  22 For Moshe truly said to the fathers, A Prophet shall the Lord your God raise up to you of your brethren, like to me; Him shall you hear in all things whatsoever He shall say to you. 

This comes from Devarim 18.  At the second coming when Yeshua returns, there is a time called the Restitution of All Things.  This is something that few believers understand, because few have been taught that there is a Restitution of All Things.   

Moshe told the Children of Yisrael in Devarim 18:15 that God would raise up a prophet that they would hear. 

15 Yehovah your Redeemer (elohiym)will raise up to you a Prophet from the midst of you, of your brethren, like to me; to Him you shall hearken;

 

This is something Moshe stated to the Children of Yisrael almost 1600 years before Peter in Acts.  Moshe went on to state in Devarim 18:16-17.

 

16 According to all that you desired of Yehovah your Redeemer (elohiym) in Chorev in the day of the assembly, saying, let me not hear again the voice of Yehovah my Redeemer (elohiym), neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.  17 And Yehovah said to me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.

 

These words are referring to what happened at Mount Chorev which is Mount Sinai.  When the Children of Yisrael told Moshe, after God declared the 10 Words, Shemos 20:19.

 

19 And they said to Moshe, Speak you with us, and we will hear, but let not God speak with us, lest we die.

 

They wanted Moshe to speak with them, but God went one step further and would bring the Messiah.  All would hear this prophet and would have to obey the words of the prophet.  If not, there would be other results, Devarim 18:18-19.

 

18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like to you, and will put My words in His mouth; and He shall speak to them all that I shall command Him.  19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken to My words which He shall speak in My name, I will require it of him.

 

Unfortunately, this was stated 1600 years prior to the Messiah.  As such, these will be in the Resurrection of the Just and Unjust when Messiah returns.  Refer to Resurrection of the Just and the Unjust for further discussion.  Peter states similarly in Acts 3:23.

 

23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that Prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

 

In the Millennium, all will hear this Prophet.  If they do not comply, they will be destroyed.  Then Peter backs up his statements with Acts 3:24.

 

24 Yes, and all the prophets from Shemuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

 

All the prophets prophesied of the Restitution of All Things, Acts 3:25-26.

 

25 You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Avraham, And in your seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. 26 To you first God, having raised up his Son Yeshua, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

 

Peter’s words prophesy God’s promise in Devarim 18.  This will occur in the Millennium, but do not think that this is just for the Children of Yisrael.  After Cornelius’ experience, the elders in Yerushalayim stated in Acts 11:17-18.

 

17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did to us, who believed on the Lord Yeshua Messiah; what was I, that I could withstand God? 18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance to life.

 

Peter also stated in Acts 3 that all kindreds of the earth would be blessed.  That would be hard to occur unless all were resurrected to hear the words of Yeshua, 1 Timothy 2:2-3.

 

3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

 

It has always been God’s greatest desire that all would come to the truth.  Not that all would, but at least they would have an opportunity.  That is why Paul stated in 1 Timothy 2:5-6.

 

5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Messiah Yeshua; 6 Who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

 

God has a due time for all to hear.  For many, this will not occur until the Millennium. 

 

So through Moshe, a Judge and Redeemer would come.  Moshe was a foreshadowing to Pharaoh.  As all the law is, Hebrews 10:1.

 

1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. 

So if אֱלֹהִים elohiym (H0430) is a picture of the Messiah or Redeemer, why translate it Judge.  Yeshayahu helps to explain this through Yeshayahu 1:26. 

26 And I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counsellors as at the beginning.  Afterward you shall be called, the city of righteousness, the faithful city.

 

God declares that He will restore the judges as at the first.  It is important to understand what the Judges of Yisrael were in the beginning.  This is basic to understanding what the 1000 Year Day of Judgment is all about, Shofetim 2:18A.

 

18A And when Yehovah raised them up judges, then Yehovah was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge.

 

The ministry of the judge was not to declare if one was a sinner or guilty, their purpose was to deliver the people out of the hand of the enemy.  This is exactly what will happen during the 1000 Year Day of Judgment.

 

So it would be proper in the Bible to state that a judge and redeemer were the same thing.

 

אֱלֹהִים elohiym (H0430) is in the Bible 2606 times.  This document will not show every correction.  In other documents on the website, אֱלֹהִים elohiym (H0430) will either be translated judge or redeemer.  If it is refering to Yehovah, it will be capitalized.  Since there are numerous documents on the website created prior to this one,  there many times אֱלֹהִים elohiym (H0430) is not corrected.  These will be corrected as documents are updated.
