לִוְיָתָן livatan (H3882) mourning, leviathan
Job 3:8
8 Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their mourning.
Mourning comes from the Hebrew word לִוְיָתָן livatan (H3882). It is in the Bible 6 times. לִוְיָתָן livatan (H3882) is translated leviathan 5 times and mourning 1 time. It is literally a sea monster. Figuratively, it is the Devil that rules the seas or the waters. It is the one who rules the Great Harlot of Revelation 17:1-2.
1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying to me, Come hither; I will show to you the judgment (krima) of the great whore that sits upon many waters. 2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
She sits on the waters which represents control and to rule over. The waters are explained in Revelation 17:15.
15 And he said to me, The waters which you saw, where the whore sits, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations (ethnos), and tongues.
This represents all the people under the control of the Harlot Church and Spiritual Babylon as a whole. This includes all individuals that have not left Babylon, Revelation 18:3-4.
3 For all nations (ethnos) have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. 4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people, That you be not partakers of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues.
The fact that Revelation 18:4 states, Come out of her, My people, indicates that there are born-again believers under the influence of the Harlot. As such, there are born-again believers that make up the individuals in the waters that the Great Harlot sits on and controls to some extent.
Levithan himself is the devil which is clear from Isaiah 27:1.
1 In that day Yehovah with His sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and He shall slay the dragon that in the sea.
When one continues to read Isaiah 27, there is only one that could fit the context. That would be Satan, the Devil. As such, Job 3:8 should have been translated.
8 Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their Levithan.
The fact that Job spoke of Levithan rather than himself indicates that he believed that the devil had a hand in his suffering. Job had a better understanding of his condition than many assumed. Job just lacked the piece of information that would explain how the devil got through Job‘s hedge. That is not part of this discussion, this is explained in the discussion of the Book of Job.
